    VI. Evaluate and Revise
    In addition to the small quiz on day eight of the unit, the student’s work will be evaluated throughout the unit. The review handout, the menus, the scripts, and the films will all be evaluated and graded for content. The portfolios will carry the most weight in the grades students receive in this unit. By incorporating collaborative learning and technological activities, I believe all learning styles will be met. I also believe they will have fun learning while performing and creating their tasks.

    {Snapshot_001.png} This is a snapshot of the avatar I created for a Second Life project in my CI 350 class. I thought that second life was somewhat odd. I found some people's obsession with it a little unsettling. However, I could see merit in using it in classroom instruction. For my classroom, we could take a virtual trip to Paris and actually interact with real French people. The students could practice their conversational skills with students in France. We could also immerse ourselves in the culture by visiting famous landmarks like the Louvre, the Eiffel Towel, and Versailles.The possibilities are endless and fascinating. While I can appreciate the learning possibilities of Second Life, I do not necessarily agree with the freedom students may possess in navigating this world. There would definately be a need for filters or some sort of blocking system to control where the students could and could not visit.

    The above is a link to the wiki created by our CI 350 teacher Mr. Simon. It was created to help us organize our groups during our You Tube collaborative project. When followed, one can also view the video created for the project. The project brought together our CI 350 class and the CI 400 class. Groups of four (two students from each class) were put together in a collaborative effort. The science methods class provided the content for our videos and the technology was overseen by our CI 350 students. While the project was challenging with differing schedules, I enjoyed the process. I liked getting to know other students and coming together to create an original video that can be used in classrooms. This kind of collaborative project is mirrored in my unit plan. Students will be grouped together to produce a video depicting dinning scenes in French.
